Crisis Torn Sudan: IMV Urges FG to Evacuate Nigerians
Ibadan Mega Voice, IMV has called on the Federal Government, to urgently evacuate all Nigerians Citizens in crisis back home safely from war torn Sudan.
Ibadan Mega Voice, IMV, is a body of renowned Ibadan indigenes of over 50 members who are into professional media practice within and outside Nigeria.
Speaking during IMV’s Monthly meeting in Ibadan, the Association’s President, Kola Olomide asserted that the excuses given by the federal government over its failure to evacuate Nigerians trapped in war-torn Sudan are unacceptable.
The Association noted that the call became imperative due to what she described as widespread public concern on the situation of Nigerians in Sudan.
Olomide said the Association is especially concerned with regards the safety of Nigerian citizens, especially those of Ibadan descent in the war-torn Sudan.
“This is a call to the Federal government to seek means to evacuate over 4,000 Nigerian students stranded in Sudan. The Committee on Diaspora is concerned and we are very uncomfortable with the excuses from concerned agencies. The fate of Nigerians trapped in Sudan due to ongoing war and killings, is very important.”, Olomide said.
Olomide therefore said, the Association feels duty bound to unequivocally state its stance on this bloodshed and arson in Sudan, as it concerns Nigerians.
